A transfer from Iowa City High, Herman has made a significant impact at Danville on both sides of the ball this season. Herman is a physical interior lineman, operating with good pad level and power. That works really well at guard, where he overwhelms opponents with force and strong hands. They’re on their heels early in plays after he fires off of the snap. Herman bursts forward fast on defense, too. There, he also shows quickness and athleticism for a bigger kid. As much as physicality is a big part of Herman’s success now, the senior has room to add mass and strength to his frame. He could help schools in the trenches on the next level. It’s up to them to decide at which position he’d be most impactful.
