Travon Pankey Travon Pankey 6'1" | 205 lbs | RB Oak Park | 2025 State MO is a player that I’m very surprised hasn’t picked up his first official offer. Pankey is coming off a strong junior season in which he finished with 1,884 yards of total offense (1,742 rushing) and 28 total touchdowns in 12 games. He had tremendous vision, showing the patience to wait for the running lane to come open then hit it with a sense of urgency. Once he hits the open field he has the speed to simply run away from the defense and he also has the elusiveness and contact  balance to make defenders miss. I expect that first offer to come Pankey’s way soon as he has received some Division I interest and definitely has the talent to play at the next level.

Watch for Travon to become one of the top running back prospects in Kansas City by the time his senior season gets here. Good size, vision, strength, and speed get displayed as Travon patiently waits to explode through the line of scrimmage the second power runs open up. A good combination of balance, quickness, and power allows Travon to escape from defenders in a variety of ways in the open field. Travon’s production shown as a kick returner and effort displayed blocking on KOR only strengthens his third down value at the next level.

Travon visited Kansas State last month. I would expect the talented Kansas City rusher to receive his first offer before 2024 gets here.

Travon’s next level top gear shows escaping traffic and creating huge gains down the sideline out of Oak Park’s pistol formation. Travon displays a good combination of strength, balance, and toughness earning yards up the middle when power runs are disrupted at the point of attack. Next level size, power, and burst shows evading defenders in multiple ways in the open field. Travon’s patience and good vision get displayed waiting for power runs to develop before attacking holes in the line of scrimmage.

He finished this past season with 180 carries for 1,359 yards and 16 touchdowns. Pankey is a physical, downhill runner with the ability to break tackles in the open field without losing stride. Once he gets to the second level, he has shown that he has the speed to get to the outside and run away from the defense. Pankey also has good vision in the open field, showing the ability to find cut back lanes quickly. Travon doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
