Unfortunately I could not find Dye’s senior highlight tape online so the following evaluation is based on his junior film.
Although the first clip of him is on defense, you can see Dye’s explosiveness and his leg drive delivers a sudden jolt backwards to the ball carrier. As a rusher, Dye appears patient when he runs affording any pullers to get through the hole ahead of him or for a lane to open up. Once daylight appears, Dye accelerates to the hole. In situations like this there is a slight change in speed that you are able to observe. He is a bigger back with great balance who keeps his legs working. This renders weak or arm tackles ineffective against him. Dye runs his track well, avoiding bouncing to the outside prematurely. In fact, much of his highlights – even the big gainers – show him breaking through the tackle box. When in the open field Dye will utilize the stiff arm or high-step over defenders who try to tackle him low. Profiling as more of a power back who demonstrates more power than wiggle, Dye has shown a propensity to lower his shoulder and barrel over defenders coming in high. This makes me think Dye profiles better as a 1-cut runner rather than one who will cut back against the grain – although he has. I would like to see Dye protect the ball with both hands as he gets through the first two levels of the defense, as well as lower his pad level in the same situation.

churned-and-burned on both sides of the ball in a gritty 14-0 victory over Union City. Dye led the Bulldogs in tackles with 14 (10 solos) and 1 tackle for loss. On the ground, Dye maintained a steady pace and ripped off big gainers late in the game – including a 50-yard run – to finish with 24/148/1 on the ground. With the PCTI victory, we have a Group V final rematch from last year.

show carries on. In a 34-27 victory against Montclair, PCTI’s lead back reminded people that he is the real deal. Dye slashed 28/220/3 in route to the Bulldogs second-consecutive sectional title. This was Dye’s second consecutive game with over 220 yards and third game with over 200 yards on the season. This game had him set a new career high in season rushing yardage (1849) with 7 less carries. He has also nearly doubled his touchdown output from last year. Not just a one-way player, Dye also totaled 10 tackles with 1 tackle for loss.

is having a very impressive statistical season from the running back position. Gaining 1624 yards on the ground and 18 rushing touchdowns, the Passaic Tech product has been throwing defenders around and then proceeds to outrun the rest of them. Trashon is a man you would not want to go 1 on 1 with between the tackles. He is a bruiser of a back, delivering a blow that flattens would-be tacklers that are in his path. Trashon is truly one of the best RBs in the state and will make momentum changing plays in the finals.

. A two-way starter, Dye rushed for 1276 yards and 11 TDs on 247 carries; defensively he was very active, making 138 stops (9.5 TFL), 4 sacks, 4 FF, and 2 FR. Although he is immensely talented as a back, the 6 foot 205lber is being evaluated as a LB today.
Dye absolutely explodes through the line when called to blitz. He is quicker than just about any lineman he is matched up against. If he does not stop the play in its tracks, he pursues and screams down the line. He also does a nice job strafing when facing option coming directly at him. If he cannot get to a pass, he knows to get hits hands up and try to tip it. What I actually love the most about Dye’s game is how he squares up and makes perfect form tackles every single time. Nobody ever escapes his clutches. Coaches could probably do a whole tackling session at a clinic using his film alone. Dye, too, would benefit from having more clips of him taking pass drops in his highlights.
The Bulldogs are a team loaded with returning talent and should have a big chip on their shoulder entering the season. This is unquestionably a team to keep tabs on this fall.

was a force this past season on both sides of the ball. As a runner, he ran for 1276 yards and 11 touchdowns to go with it. What separates Trashon from others is his ability to find the hole and move through it quickly. He is a man with little hesitation when the ball is in his hands.
