Ruffin’s a game-wrecker and it’s almost unfair for someone his size and quickness to play at the 1A level. But he’s more than a big body, Ruffin has an array of pass-rushing moves that is impressive for a player his age. The upside here, of course, is his athleticism, as he’s maintained a quick first step as he’s grown. He won’t need much transformation to play early in the SEC.

Ruffin was his usual dominant self during North Duplin’s win over East Bladen. He made several plays in the backfield and more importantly made them on 3rd down. East Bladen typically runs a wishbone offense, and the Texas A&M commit sometimes would end the play by shooting the gaps, before the play would even get started.

The athletic big man started the season with a fumble recovery for a touchdown, showing great speed for a prospect of his size. Trashawn has helped North Duplin to an undefeated 5-0 start to the season thus far.
