After game one where this junior ball carrier didn’t produce like he needed, Gardner made up for it in his team’s 43-22 win over Shelbyville with more than 160 yards rushing and six total touchdowns on the night. Gardner produced five of those scores on the ground while also generating a touchdown through the air with a trick play pass in the 4th quarter. The Tigers junior star was outstanding in this contest as his contact balance and speed proved to be too much to handle for the Golden Eagles defense. Gardner was easily the best player on the field this game and a player that boosted his college stock by showing off his playmaking abilities.

It wasn’t hard to choose our player of the game with Gardner easily standing out as the top playmaker on the field between both teams that produced three touchdowns on the night. This guy was hard to handle due to his athleticism, explosiveness and speed. Once he got into the open field, Gardner could not be slowed down. This was my first exposure to Gardner, so I have plenty to learn about him but I really like what I see from this sophomore back, who could turn into a top prospect for his position with added size and further development.
