Toay has been a key piece for Lancaster since he was a freshman. The sophomore made a big leap in his two way impact in 2025. The ’28 QB/LB finished by going for 95/155, 1,568 Yards, 10 TDs, 166 Carries, 878 Yards, 17 TDs, 75 Tackles, and 9 TFLs.
On the wrestling mat Toay battled in the 215 lbs weight class where he was able to finished with a 41-5 record overall. The final win coming in the Division 3 State Championship match. Big things are sure to be ahead for the standout sophomore wrestler.
It is so easy to see the traits carrying over to the field from the mat when you watch Ragatz’s highlights. He has such a strong frame supported by excellent body control and use of leverage while tackling or carrying the football. The ’28 isn’t afraid to do the tough, gritty work and has the instincts and speed to get all over the field in time to make plays on defense.

I was very excited to see Toay take the field this season. It looked like he would be playing two ways and making his offensive impact as a dual threat QB. But until it actually happens you can never know what to fully expect. Toay has delivered and gone above and beyond with his talent. He is completing an elite 66% of his passes for 514 yards and 3 TDs. He has ran for 229 yards and 4 additional TDs. Then on defense he flies around and has made 11.5 tackles with 1.5 TFLs so far this season. Toay is big, he is physical, and his conditioning and motor this early in the season are fantastic. The rising sophomore is so versatile and has that size/speed/power blend that can open up doors for him to play several potential positions at the next level. Don’t sleep on this kid.

We recently wrote about Toay when talking about the new additions to the 2028 rankings. I came away very impressed by the LB/QB during that time. Ragatz has the frame to continue to build himself into a standout recruit. As an LB he flies around the field relentlessly, closes quick, and runs his feet through his tackles. Lancaster loves to get their QBs involved on the ground and this kid has the skill set to do that often on Friday nights. He runs the ball with the same aggressiveness as when he is hunting it down on defense. Get ready for this dude to prove himself even more impactful than he did as a freshman.

Lancaster already knows what they have in Toay as a defender. The LB flies around the field with power and strong instincts that are developing very quickly. Toay earned a varsity role at LB and ran with it to a 2nd place finish in tackles on the team with 84 and 9 TFLs plus 3.5 sacks. Where we could see the new varsity role is as the starting QB on offense. Lancaster loses their 2024 starter who threw for almost 2,000 yards while running for nearly 600 yards. Ragatz served as the backup in 2024 and looks primed to take over the dual threat responsibilities. That opens the door to a two- way impact and the potential to put together a career that a lot of people remember. I’m excited to watch it unfold.
