Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Osterman checks into our rankings update slated in the top slot and deservingly so. He is a long and rangy athlete that can play multiple positions and has a diverse toolbox with some nice upside in college and untapped potential. He has great range, length and can cover a ton of ground in the open field while a strong tackler that brings violence at the POA and is a natural pass rusher with active hands and bend around the corner. Currently committed to Washington, he is the lone prospect in Idaho with a P4 offer and is coming off a terrific Junior season campaign.

Osterman holds an early offer from Washington and is a very high upside and intriguing prospect on either side of the ball. At 6’4″ and 210 pounds, he can play either linebacker or possibly even tight end in college depending on the level, scheme and school but is a no-brainer FCS+ talent. He is a long and rangy player that has great strength the point of attack and plays with violent intentions on both sides of the ball with a huge catch radius and strong hands in traffic. He moves extremely well for his size and is mismatch downfield and in the red zone. Defensively, he covers a ton of ground and has elite closing speed and can quickly knife into the backfield and set the edge while also showing pass rush abilities with a quick use of hands and natural bend around the corner.

Recent Offers: University of Washington
Notes: It was only a matter of time until Osterman picked up his first P4 offer, and the Dawgs were the first to pull the trigger earlier this month. He has elite length and athleticism for the edge position, and with still two years left to grow and develop he offers tons of upside and potential at either the edge/linebacker spot in college. Expect a slew of other FBS schools to come in and offer the ’27 prospect as he will be one of the states best this Fall.

Osterman is another one of the top 2027 players in the state and checks into our rankings as the top ’27 linebacker in Idaho and is a elite two-way guy. He has the ideal length and frame for the outside linebacker position and is a true athlete at the second level that can run, change direction and is very fluid space especially for his size. He shows a nose for the ball, explodes through contact at the POA and is very physical in the box, navigating around or through blockers and is a true plug in the middle with pass rush/edge setting abilities as well. He is a no-brainer DI caliber prospect that should be drawing interest and potential offers sooner rather than later.

Osterman is a long and rangy outside linebacker with outstanding range and closing speed in the open field. He checks in as our top linebacker in the class, and the number three prospect across Idaho in this update. The rising Junior is also a talented pass rusher with active hands good bend and first step explosion off the eball while showing he can close quickly, collapse the pocket and work counter moves as well if needed. In space, he is a sure tackler that takes the proper angles, shows he can come up and set the edge and flashes cover abilities downfield as well. He has the frame to continue packing on weight through the next two years, and will be a no brainer FCS+ prospect at this time next year with no shortage of schools showing interest.

Osterman enters into our rankings update this time around checking in at the number two spot behind Frei and is a long and rangy backer with good closing speed, range in space and brings a nice thump at the POA. He shows he can sniff out plays quickly, redirects to the ball effectively and is a sure tackler in the open field, especially for his age. The Kimberly product has the frame to be able to pack on more weight over the next few years, and projects as a true outside linebacker at the next level with plus cover abilities as well and is one of the states top linebackers regardless of class.
