has the potential to be one of the top two-way players in Class 4A football this season. Last season, Johnson would really shine bright on the defensive side of the ball at the linebacker position. He finished the year with just over 100 tackles and also had 17 tackles for loss. On offense, he would get into the game at running back and produced at a very high level when he got his opportunities. He would finish with nearly 300 yards and nine touchdowns on just 39 carries. Now, he’ll be the marquee running back in the Harrah offense and we could see his offensive production absolutely explode.

Macaraig isn’t the only option for the Panthers when it comes to the running game. They also have a physical game-wrecker of a linebacker that also plays running back. Junior

has matched Macaraig’s six touchdowns on the ground so far this season and he’s certainly more of a physical presence when he lines up in the backfield. He makes the most of his carries as he only has 17 on the season and has already found the end zone six times. He had three touchdowns in their season opener against McLoud on five carries. And we mentioned he’s a linebacker that also plays running back. He leads the team in tackles and tackles for loss. He’ll be a big part of their success on Friday as he tries to crash the backfield to slow down Blanchard’s offense.

is going to be able to help out Macaraig at the running back position this season. Johnson was the second-leading rusher behind Macaraig on the team last fall but it’s what he does on defense that lands him right here as a player to watch for the Panthers. Johnson led the team with over 70 tackles on the season and he’s looking to be the team’s leader again this season and take that production up to the next level. There are some really good defensive players in Class 4A this fall but Johnson definitely has earned his way into that discussion. He’s a hard-nosed ball carrier on the offensive side of the ball but we love what he brings to to the table on the defensive side of the ball.
