Grigsby Jr, was another player who was extremely impressive at the showcase. In Warwick, we saw a raw young version of Grigsby who was learning a ton of skills at the DB position. At Jerry Flora’s Showcase, he showed how much he had improved.
Grigsby Jr, had an excellent showcase in Randolph. I liked his footwork a lot, and his Press Techniques easily improved, stopping players at the line. In coverage, he showcased an elite ability to track the ball, and showcased good hands, allowing him to make plays on the ball.
Measuring in at 5’11” 160-Pounds, Grigsby Jr, was one of the taller Defensive Backs in attendance in Warwick. The Nyack Prospect, can look to reach the 175-180-Pound Mark to help fill out hill frame as he progresses through High School. His length, and footwork, give me a projection of Safety for him. He displayed excellent footwork in drills, and did an excellent job chopping his feet, and closing in during drills. In the 1v1 portion, he had some solid reps, and was coachable through the day. He made a few mistakes, but improved in each new attempt. Grigsby Jr is a player who wants to improve, and as a rising Junior, he has a ton of potential. Look for him to be a deadly threat in Section 1 next season.
Theodore is a taller defensive back with a high ceiling and a build that projects well, especially at the safety position. His long legs and stride give him the potential to cover a lot of ground quickly when playing over the top. During drills, he did a good job chopping his feet and coming back upfield, showing solid body control for his size. He had a tougher time in one on ones against some of the quicker, speedier receivers, but that didn’t take away from his overall projection. With his length and range, Theodore looks best suited as a safety where he can read the play, stay deep, and use his athleticism to flourish in coverage.
