Last season, Clay was asked to step in and play quarterback out of necessity but this year he’s moving back to his natural position at receiver. That experience at QB gave him a deeper understanding of the offense and how to find openings in coverage, which should give him an edge this fall. Clay is a shifty receiver who can make explosive plays on the perimeter or from the slot, where his quickness creates mismatches. His precise route running allows him to separate and consistently get open, while his playmaking ability makes him a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. Expect Clay to emerge as one of Sand Creek’s breakout players in Week 1.

Clay is a QB that has great touch on his deep passes, being able to put some air under his passes and let his receivers run and get it. He is a good timing QB that is able to get it to receivers right out of breaks and is a quick hitter. He will be looking to limit the turnovers this season and will be a 4A QB that should be on the radar moving forward.
