Expert Analysis

After a strong middle school career at Chattanooga Prep, Bivens will be suiting up for Boyd-Buchanan this upcoming year. He’s seeing early time as both a Wide Receiver and at Safety at this point. Has shown good range and the ability to not get caught with his eyes in the backfield. One the biggest takeaways on film is his ability to read and patrol his side in a 2-deep Safety look. Does a nice job of planting his foot and exploding while changing direction, to cover ground quickly.

, an outstanding talent on both sides of the ball for TTG Smoke. Bivens catches my attention with his great size and speed off the snap, proving he can beat the defense to the ball on offense and use his arms to shut down the passing game on the other side. I also liked how Bivens could bully the defense in the endzone and elevate off the ground to meet the ball in the air.

, another high-level wide receiver and defensive back on TTG Smoke’s roster that caught my attention on Saturday. Bivens had great size, proving he could blast past the defense and quickly get open for the pass. I also liked how Bivens could use his size to bully the defense in the backfield. Bivens also impressed with his ability to lock down receivers on the defensive side of the ball.

- Hamilton County (East TN)
- Strengths: Hands, speed
I really like what I saw on the 2024 film of Bivens, as both a Defensive Back and Wide Receiver. As of March 2025 he long limbs and a longer frame than some others DB/WRs at this level. A year ago he qualified for the State Track and Field Meet in the Long Jump, as a seventh-grader.He covers a lot of ground with longer strides and tracks the ball (regardless of which side of the ball he’s playing) at an advanced level. He gets vertical in hurry while running routes as a WR. As a Safety, his speed allows him to play Center Field and blanket a large portion of the field with relative ease. He looks like a natural in the defensive secondary and should be identified pre-snap on every play.
Areas for improvement: Become a well-rounded DB
His 2024 film shows many draw-dropping highlights and spectacular plays–which highlights the special ability he has. With that said, his film doesn’t show any tackles or support in the run game. That’s not to say Bivens doesn’t haven’t have the ability to do so, but become a better tackler and more well-rounded Defensive Back is something that can be said for the majority of pre-high school prospects. Adding, or showing off his physicality, in additional to his ball skills, will only take him higher.
- Prospect Grade: B
