Projects much better as a safety with his size and movement ability. Basketball and track background show up in how he runs and changes direction. 400+ yards receiving and multiple scores prove ball skills are there. High-end D2 player with clear FCS upside. Position switch will dictate how high he climbs.

Teegan Shirley Teegan Shirley 6'2" | 183 lbs | DB/ATH State PA is like I’ve mentioned before the enforcer of the DB roomat Kiski Area High School. Shirley is an athletic freak who I’ve seen test with my own eyes at the PRZ Combine earlier in May. Shirley on film plays with every inch of his long frame, being a nuisance in coverage because of his frame. In coverage Shirley is smooth, not real stiff, and plays with a high game IQ knowing where to be and when to make a play on the ball. Shirley in the run game was my favorite aspect of his game, being a physical tackler and taking pride in the dirty work of run defense. Shirley is a clear FCS caliber kid, and will be someone to watch this fall.

Teegan Shirley Teegan Shirley 6'2" | 183 lbs | DB/ATH State PA is a talented defensive back for Kiski Area who showed out big time at the showcase. He is such a good athlete, so it enables him to guard talented wide receivers. His ability to run with them and then get his hands on a wide receiver when the ball is in the air is excellent. Shirley is one of the best defensive backs in the 2027 class, and he showed it at the combine.

Teegan entered the PRZ PA Combine with high expectations, and he didn’t disappoint. Teegan lived up to the buzz and ended the day as a Top Performer. Standing head and shoulders above many of his peers, he leveraged his size to dominate smaller wideouts, effortlessly high pointing the ball to snatch it out of the air.

Beyond his physical advantages, Teegan’s technical prowess and football IQ were on full display. He showcased excellent awareness in the back end of the secondary, reacting to the receivers with precision. On shorter routes, he demonstrated impressive body control, decelerating with ease and squaring up to meet receivers, effectively shutting down their momentum.

With a high ceiling and a knack for making plays, Teegan validated his pre-event hype, cementing his status as one of the day’s standout defensive backs.

There’s a lot of hype around Teegan heading into Saturday’s combine. The Pennsylvania standout put up 70 tackles and three interceptions in 2024, cementing himself as a top 10 DB in the state. His size is a major asset, making him a tough presence to beat in the back end, and his highlights from last season show a young player with a knack for coming up big in crucial moments.

QBs should think twice about putting the ball up with any air underneath it when Teegan is lurking. He’s got the size and instincts to high-point the ball and come down with it, often snatching it right from the grasp of the intended receiver. It’ll be interesting to see what he measures in at this weekend.

Teegan Shirley Teegan Shirley 6'2" | 183 lbs | DB/ATH State PA is the enforcer of the DB room at Kiski Area High School. When he’s back deep in coverage, he has a feel and knack for the football. The size is so good it’s almost like watching a WR out there in a deep zone. In the run game, Shirley is an enforcer not afraid to lay someone out, and if you get in his way, he’s going to run through you to make a tackle. He’s a long-striding athlete but has the long speed to be a good starter at the FCS or FBS level.

6’3, 170 pounds. 4.0 GPA. Is a basketball player over at Kiski Area. Likely a future producer at wideout as an upperclassman. Ranked as a Top 10 DB, this being a high debut for Shirley.

Led the team in tackles as a roaming safety. Three interceptions to his name, 3 TFLs, 6 overall pass breakups. All of this being said, the 6’3 Shirley kicks off his tape with an interception that he returns deep into enemy territory. Fantastic middle-of-the-field lurker, a true middle-of-the-field hawk who can capitalize on errant and/or tipped throws. An obvious choice on the defense to insert into the box against heavy fronts. Has the temperament and attitude to be an authoritative presence as a run supporter. Can cover ground well thanks to his stride, enough to make up for poor edge’s set up front. Great length that allows for a wide PBU radius. This is an early-offer candidate in my opinion.
