McClain measures in at 5’8 153-pounds, and is a physical force on defense. Through 5 games, he has 52 total tackles (29 solo, 23 assisted), 3 TFL, 1 INT, 2 PD, 2 FF, 1 FR. McClain has good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, good acceleration, speed, and jumping. He is a very good tackler. McClain uses his very good strength to pull the ball carrier down with force. Good get off speed and good block shedding. Very good range. McClain has very good pursuit, and is consistently all over the field to make tackles. One thing of note, is how he punches the ball out of the ball carrier’s hands leading to fumbles. He’s already put the state on notice with how he’s playing, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of his season unfolds.
