Burgess is a versatile player who seems to make an impact no matter where he’s lined up. Defensively, he’s a solid defensive back who can stay with his man, compete at the catch point, and come away with PBUs. Offensively, he’s shown he can carry the football and rip off explosive runs when he finds a crease. He even stands out as a willing blocker on kick returns, doing the little things that don’t always show up in the stat sheet. He plays hard from start to finish and never seems to take a play off. I have a lot of respect for players like that because they’ll do whatever their team needs to help win.

He can stand up a receiver on the line of scrimmage, drive them backward, and has proven his ability to knock the ball free when creating contact on quick throws. Burgess finished his sophomore season for Hopkinsville with 32 tackles, three pass breakups, and an interception. He’s the Swiss army knife, serving as both a wide receiver and running back on offense.
