, a defensive back at Siegel High School. Grant makes a considerable difference on both sides as he can blast past the defense from along the edge and contest the offense on the other side of the ball with his outstanding wingspan. I also like Grant’s breakaway speed and ability to get wide open for the touchdown pass in the endzone.

Grant sits as the top defensive back in this class, however his time in high school is already done as the Stars defender is enrolled at Purdue and set to play for the Boilermakers this Fall. Some may ask why he is listed in this class. Well that’s confusing to me too as Grant was positioned by handlers to change his graduation year on multiple occasions, so it was tough to keep up with. Regardless, Grant is an elite prospect with the height, length and speed to become a starting, All-Conference performer during his time in the Big Ten Conference. It will be fun to watch how Grant develops and performs on the collegiate gridiron as I could see this Murfreesboro native make it to the NFL ranks one day.

Strengths: Tall and long with a wide radius and an easy moving lower body, Grant drips with big time potential as someone who could develop at cover corner in the college game. That upside as of now will be seen at Purdue, where Grant committed just a few weeks ago. The Stars rising senior is a natural athlete that has secondary versatility but it’s his skill set on the outside at corner that has me and the Boilermakers coaching staff excited about his future. Grant shows excellent feet and smooth hips on film along with the discipline to lock down receivers without much hand grabbing. He is an instinctive player too who tends to make plays consistently on the ball. Even if cornerback doesn’t work out, Grant has the skills to excel at safety as well, so there is a lot of value here with this Murfreesboro area prospect. Developmental Area: When you look at Grant, the first thing you see that you know he must develop further is his body weight. The Stars defensive back is a tad lean with his frame but if he stays out at cornerback, his body weight won’t be that big of a deal. Now if he is asked to move into safety, Grant will need to pack on more pounds but I don’t foresee that being a problem during his time in the Big Ten. Overview: There is a lot to like about Grant and his future in college football and with Purdue. There is a reason why I have him ranked inside our Top Five prospects for the #TN2025 class and that’s because Grant brings size, natural athletic abilities and the character to develop into a multi year starter during his time with the Boilermakers. No matter what happens over the coming months, Grant will remain within our Top 10 junior prospects as he is just that good and too talented to be passed over by many. This was an excellent pickup by Purdue that could have a big payoff down the road.

The number one ranked defensive back from our junior class headed into the 2023 season is this Murfreesboro area product who put together such a strong off-season campaign that it placed him among the top five overall prospects from the #TN2025 Top 100. The biggest reason for Grant landing at the #1 spot is because of his size and ability to possibly play cover corner at 6’3 on the collegiate level. The Stars junior defender is long with great instincts and the foot speed to keep up with receivers on the outside. Grant can smother his opponent with his length then use his speed to jump the route. This guy is a worker too, so you can bet this Mid-Tennessee talent will continue to get better throughout the next two years of his high school career.

is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound corner for Siegel High School and is a super athletic prospect. He displays very good instincts in zone coverage with the speed to get over the number 2 attacking the seam in cover 3. Good length and ball skills, Grant shows good timing and tracking with physicality to finish at the catch point. Grant possesses good eyes in man and zone coverage combined with good technique. Plays with high effort and he shows good competitive toughness with long speed to make solid hustle plays.
