When I was watching Johnsons’ tape the very first play had my jaw dropped. He’s a seriously talented back who I think is set for a massive senior season this fall. Johnson has extremely impressive contact balance and speed he uses to stay on his feet and create huge plays in the open field, it takes a ton of effort to bring him down and even more to catch up to him.

Johnson is incredibly shifty with the ball in his hands- he can change his direction effortlessly and has the elusiveness to easily make defenders miss in the open field. It’s seriously impressive watching him, every carry has the potential to go the distance with how well he navigates the field.

Johnson made some really impressive plays last fall, totaling up 56 carries for 330 yards and 4 TDs on the ground in just 4 games.

Johnson is a highly athletic back who does a ton of great things with the ball in his hands. He has a ton of speed and elusiveness that allow him to consistently go untouched by defenders, and when you combine that with his vision and instincts, he has a ton of big play potential. On tape it’s easy to see he has a great understanding of where he needs to go with the ball, he’s patient in the backfield and waits for the best possible running lane to open up. Johnson also plays with a lot of physicality- he isn’t afraid to take hits and does a great job playing through contact, especially in goal-line scenarios. Johnson has steadily developed into a very dependable running back, his last two seasons speak volumes about the type of player he is and could become. Keep an eye on him this fall, he’s set up for a big junior season and is sure to make some big plays for Carver!
