Wiles Proves Versatility, Dominance at Wide Receiver

This past season, Wiles made a compelling statement: a big-bodied receiver can be just as versatile, and dangerous, as any other weapon on the field. The 6-foot-4 junior showcased his all-around skill set, making plays in every phase of the offense. Whether it was on screen passes, deep shots downfield, over the middle, from the slot or outside, Wiles consistently delivered. He even lined up at running back, where he recorded a rushing touchdown.

With the ball in his hands, Wiles becomes a high-speed tank, difficult to bring down and often requiring gang tackles. While he runs with brute strength, he also flashes impressive vision, finding cutback lanes and eluding defenders with surprising agility.

To top it all off, Wiles takes pride in his downfield blocking, often springing teammates for big gains and scores. Expect this dynamic skill set to be on full display once again in next season’s WCAC playoffs.

More love here to another player that didn’t get mentioned post-event. Size was the obvious trait that stuck out immediately. Soft hands and ability to come down with difficult catches caught my eye next. I didn’t show too much love to the TE group in this one, yet trust that Wiles was well worth the praise. Looking back at some drone footage I have, I’d be remiss to not mention Wiles along with the group above. Yes, others present might’ve provided a bit more flare and splash to their performances, yet Wiles was consistently reeling balls in. At his size, a college is going to find him worthy of bringing in real soon.

Oh boy Tanner Wiles Tanner Wiles 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR/TE St. Paul VI Catholic | 2026 State VA can run, expect him to stand out during the 1v1s he is pain to cover. He is 6’5 and stout off the ball, and coming of a championship season. Wiles has a 3.7 GPA and with schools such as Bucknell and Roanoke set to be on site, they should have their eyes on him.

Exceptional hands and a good route runner, Wiles is going to cause problems for any defense trying to cover him. Recently he has been making the rounds of numerous 7v7 outings and by the looks of it, generally looks uncoverable.
