About Tanner

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I take pride in being a fully committed blocker at the line of scrimmage as well as downfield. I'm a versatile route runner with the size to be effective over the middle and speed to excel on the outside and on deeper patterns. Also an agile and consistent pass catcher that is physical at point of catch.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

As a multi sport athlete at PVI I have learned to always put the team first. My teammates are my brothers so I focus on being a good teammate while staying highly competitive at all times. As a freshman we won the VISAA state championship in lacrosse and for JV basketball we were 20-0. This year we won the WCAC Metro football championship. I expect to win when I step on the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a basketball, football and lacrosse player at PVI I have learned that in order for a team to be successful everyone must put the team first and lead by example. At PVI we commit at least 20 hours a year to community service. In addition to Big Brothers, I have supported programs for the homeless, coached youth sports teams, worked youth camps and prepared Christmas gifts for the needy.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I believe every challenge also creates opportunity. My sophomore year for lacrosse I got strep throat and mono on our spring trip. I missed a game and several practices while losing 10 pounds. Upon returning I had to work very hard to earn my way back onto the the 1st midfield line and I led the team in scoring in the playoffs.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college with good school spirit that has a solid academic reputation, active alumni and a commitment to football and athletics in general.
