As the tailback in a Wing-T offense Ordille gets plenty of opportunities to carry the rock. What makes hi a unique defender is how he pulls the string on his speed, by slightly slowing doing to set defenders up for a move to gain additional yardage. His go-to move appears to be the jump-cut, a move we have seen him execute across the grain. Ordille reaches top speed almost immediately out the shoot, which allows him to garner up power when he runs. We see this when tacklers go up high on him, as Ordille carries them for extra yardage typically through the first two defenders to arrive. As those defenders close in on him, it appears that Ordille secures the ball before they arrive to avoid putting the ball on the turf. Lastly, Ordille has the vision to find the best path to the end zone once he gets into the open field. The biggest things for Ordille to improve upon as he head to college is running with a lower pad level and improving his top-end speed.

In what will be his last game of his prep career, Ordille had a huge came as he refused to be denied being called a state champion. Although he rushed just 13 times, he scored 3 times and went for 186 yards on those carries – good for a 14.3 yards per carry average.

Stephen Ordille is making waves in the playoffs, standing out as a tough and elusive 5’10”, 180-pound running back. Breaking a  record that has stood since 1980, he surpassed 1,657 rushing yards this season. His remarkable elusiveness and contact balance are standout traits, showcasing his efficiency as a runner. As Stephen heads to the state finals for his group, he continues to highlight his impressive skill set on the field.

In perhaps the weekend’s biggest upset, Mainland went on the road to defeat Millville by a score of 35-14. A big part of Mainland’s offensive attack was Ordille’s play. Pacing the ground game and keeping Millville’s explosive offense off of the field, Ordille ran for a career high 33 carries. The run-first oriented game plan proved fruitful as Ordille gained 250 yards while scoring 4 times.
