Simar split time between JV and Varsity last season but looks to be a main stay along Blake’s defensive line this fall. A DT prospect who is a play wrecker up the middle. He is quick off the snap and is able to shoot gaps and finds himself in the backfield often. Playing with good leverage, Simar stays low and fights through contact at the LOS. Athletic and quick, he plays on his toes and has a good motor. Simar has active hands, able to rip and slip passed blockers, and displays a clean spin move as well. He continues to get stronger and I expect offenses to be aware of Simar’s where abouts this fall or he will make them pay.
