About Shaymus

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is a lot like Jalen Hurts, I always make things happen. Being a state champion track runner and jumper I use my speed a lot.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I think I have a pretty laidback personality. I get along with most people. My mentality is control the things you can control and always do everything 100%.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m involved in the athletic leadership club which helps come up with ideas on fundraising and communicating with coachs on the teams needs and expectations off the field. I also have honor roll, excellent attendance awards, and minds in motion awards

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer a lot of time helping youth, i also train younger qb’s helping with footwork. I volunteer time helping my school unified track team during their meets and give them tips.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the main challengers I’ve faced on the football field is unfortunately out of my hands. My height!! I’m not the “typical 6’2” qb”. My entire life I’ve played qb and constantly heard criticisms about my height not being tall enough for a qb. Once I step on the field it’s obvious height doesn’t matter at the qb position and I play like I’m the biggest player on the field. Film don’t lie.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a smaller school with a competitive atmosphere. Also a school with the possibility to run track as well as play football. I’d like to stay within a 5/6hr drive of my hometown.
