Sykes is a high ceiling OLB prospect that gained valuable varsity experience and performed well as a freshman. He checks a lot of boxes in terms of physical skillset and athleticism at 6’2” 185 lbs. He’s got the length colleges look for and the growth potential to add mass while maintaining his speed. Wide skillset to line up and be effective as a hybrid edge rusher or perimeter box OLB. Excels as a pass rusher that can collapse the pocket off the edge with good initial quickness and speed. Flashes natural movement skills with the change of direction and short area burst to redirect and close space on the ball carrier. Shows he can stop and stack blockers at the POA with good hand placement/usage. Pulled in his initial college offer from Delaware State in January and expect his recruitment to continue on its upward trajectory as the cycle progresses.
