Romo is an exciting athlete for Glenwood Springs, playing WR/CB/FS. Measures in at 6’1 180-pounds. He had 11 receptions for 92 yards with 3 touchdowns, 39 total tackles (25 solo, 14 assisted), 1 TFL, 1 INT, 1 PD, and 1 FF. He demonstrates very good athletic ability due to his elite jumping, very good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. Will propel himself up to create pass deflections or cause incompletions. Very good read and reaction speed. Uses his smooth back pedal and fluid torso to stay stride for stride with the receiver breaking into their route. Does a great job jamming the WR at the LOS, and re-routing them throughout the route. Romo uses his very good closing quickness and man coverage to create PDs. Excels in zone coverage. He also isn’t afraid to get physical in the run game with his tackling. Romo is the type of player to consistently keep developing with each year, as he’s shown the previous 2.

Romo continues building off an impressive sophomore season. The 6’1 175-pound junior normally plays as a defensive back, however he started to get reps on offense and knocked it out of the park. In Week 0, he had 2 receptions for 2 touchdowns, and 8 total tackles. Romo showed off his elite jumping skills. Jumping over a DB to get the touchdown not once but twice. Romo has a good release paired with very good ball tracking and catching. Uses his quick feet to gain separation. Very good body control and adjustment to keep both feet in bounds. Physical blocker in run game. Romo is an aggressive and physical corner. He is a hard tackler, and a hard hitter. He ran across the field just to make a tackle. He is a beast, and will continue to show off his athletic ability as he gains more reps as a WR.

Very good strength, tossing around receivers very easily. Very good mental processing as well. He has good timing to swat the ball away from the WR, or will try to create fumbles by punching it. He’s an all around fantastic player, and deserves WAY more looks from colleges than what he is currently getting.

Romo is a physical, high motor defensive back who brings versatility to both the secondary and special teams. As a corner, he excels in press coverage, using his strength to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage and reroute receivers. He’s equally impressive against the run, shedding blocks quickly and delivering punishing tackles in space. With his physical tools, polished technique, and willingness to support the run, Romo is a name that will gain traction quickly, especially as he enters the camp circuit.

Romo is another class of 2027 player to look out for! Romo is a lengthy corner who measures in at 6’1 162 pounds. I had the pleasure of watching him in person live at the Stock Up Showcase. Romo has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, jumping, and good change of direction. He is a scrappy cornerback, who loves to get physical with the wide receivers. In man coverage, he’ll stick to the wide out like glue. If he gets beat, he’ll use his lengthy arms to create pass deflections. Romo has a good back pedal, and consistently looking back at the quarterback. I’m looking forward to seeing Romo develop this upcoming season.
