Helgeson enters the rankings at #100 overall after an outstanding senior season throwing for 2,800 yards and 38 touchdowns while leading Scottsdale Christian to their third consecutive 3A state championship. At 6’5” 210 lbs. he possesses a prototypical frame for a QB and showed consistent command of the offense throughout the season. He is a strong and developed passer with good mechanics, displaying reliable footwork and a clean release. Maintains good tempo with his feet and eyes, allowing him to stay on schedule and efficiently work through his progressions. His vision stands out, as he consistently identifies leverage and delivers the ball to the correct spot. He shows good arm talent, capable of throwing a catchable ball with the appropriate velocity and touch at all levels of the field. Whether fitting throws into windows or layering, he demonstrates control and feel rather than relying solely on arm strength.

Quarterbacks can say they’re calm. Helgeson actually lived it. Whether SCA was staring at a two-score hole or cruising with a lead, he carried the exact same look — a kind of quiet, steady confidence that settles everyone else down before they break the huddle. He threw for 247 yards on 21-of-31 with onw touchdown, but the real value was how he kept the entire operation from feeling rushed or rattled. St. Johns punched first, the momentum swung back and forth, and still Helgeson never looked like he was forcing anything or trying to win it all back in one throw. He just kept stacking good decisions, trusting his guys to win one-on-ones, and steering the offense like someone who understood the game would eventually tilt their way.

Helgeson has lit up 3A this season and has absolutely torched every defense he’s gone up against, as the fewest points SCA has scored this year is 33 o their 33-6 week 1 win. In 7 games, he’s thrown for over 1,400 yards and 21 TD’s with just 1 INT. A very accurate passer from the pocket and shows excellent touch and finesse on throws on those 2 and 3 ball type of throws. He does a good job going through progression on designed sprint outs to come backside and hot those deep and intermediate crossers. He currently holds a handful of NAIA and D3 offers, and has a chance to lead SCA to historic 3-peat here in 2025.
