stepped in smoothly as he took over the Westview Wolverines’ QB1 role last season. Scott showed that he can not only make defenses pay with his arm, but also on the ground, ending the year with 1,481 passing yards (70% completion), 262 rushing yards, 16 passing touchdowns, and three rushing touchdowns. The biggest thing that stood out about Scott in his film was his strength, both in his arm and legs. As a passer, Scott’s strength allows him not only to throw deep downfield but also to generate great zip on the ball when fitting it into tight windows. Good ball placement— several passes where he is able to lead the receiver open and catch them in stride. Quick, efficient decision maker who can get the ball out quickly. As a runner, I was really impressed with how well Scott is able to brush off initial contact to keep fighting for more yards. He also does a good job using his legs to evade pressure in the backfield and extend plays outside of the pocket. Now with a full season of experience, expect Scott to come out more polished and confident as he looks to lead the Wolverines back to the playoffs.
