on the offensive and defensive lines. We were really impressed with Cox on the defensive side of the ball in their regular season win over Collinsville. He was a two-way starter for Grove last season and he will be that again this year as he looks to anchor both sides of the line of scrimmage. Last year, Cox would finish with nearly 50 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. He turned around and was a force on offense with nearly 50 reported pancake blocks on the season as he will pave the way for Grove’s new rushing threat.

has been an absolute force for the Ridgerunners along the line of scrimmage and he is going to be incredibly valuable to Grove on Saturday night. A lot of what we wrote about Davis from Carl Albert can be repeated right here with Cox. As the Ridgerunners try to slow down the Carl Albert rushing attack, Cox will be on the front line, trying to do something that not many have been able to do and that’s contain Robinson from Carl Albert. Like Davis, Cox has become a big name to know along the defensive line and he’ll be critical to their defense slowing down the Titans.

Grove’s offense grabbed all the headlines on Friday night but they weren’t the only ones shining in the week eight victory. While they did rack up over 600 yards of total offense, the defense did a great job of making Collinsville one dimensional and it started up front with junior defensive lineman

. While Grove racked up over 450 yards on the ground, Collinsville was limited to a little over 100 yards rushing. Cox set the tone early on that it was going to be a long night for the Collinsville ground game. As a defensive lineman, Cox has good size and like Gain, we didn’t know about him prior to the game. We’re glad that we do now because he has to be considered a defensive lineman to watch in the state’s 2024 class for the next level.
