Sam gave it his all today. He wasn’t as successful on offense as he usually is- only rushing for 44 yards on 9 carries. Still, he evaded some tackles and tried to say up for as long as he could when the play broke down.
Defensively, Sam was one of Niles’ best. He totaled 8 tackles. What I liked most about Sam’s defensive performance was his pursuit. Many Niles defenders struggled to tackle and pursue ballcarriers running down the sideline, but not Sam.
I hope someone from a D3 or NAIA program sends an offer to Sam. He’s a very passionate football player who deserves a shot!

On Saturday, Sam had an outstanding performance. A handful of rushing TDs, a kick return TD, several tackles, and an interception.
I am super confident that Sam will have another big game against a great defense. He isn’t the fastest or strongest player- but he’s extremely smart, has great vision, and phenomenal contact balance.
Anyone watching the D4 State Championship, take a look at #14!

. His film is really fun to watch. He can run the old school bully ball style, or he can make defenders miss, but what I really admire is how able and willing he is in the passing game. He’s got sure hands and runs really clean routes. On the ground, Sam is really patient and will make sure to stay behind his blockers, and finishes his runs by lowering his shoulder. His football IQ is very clear to see on film, and as he continues to add the physical attributes, I think he will be making himself a solid prospect.
