Registered 160+ total tackles as a junior, 11 TFLs, and 2 sacks to boot. A 2026 who is currently un-offered.

Posted a three-minute Hudl tape back in January. Carruthers might be up ten pounds since then, Hudl says playing weight was 190, which is a good thing. First rep has this 6’2 defender split out covering the outside slot man, not an alignment I expected turning on the tape. Has some playmaking to his game, as his tape demonstrates he can knock footballs loose from BCs, as well as intercept balls 15+ yards downfield. Can be the fifth LOS defender in shifted fronts, Columbus coaches must have fun deploying Carruthers all throughout the defense. An edge-setting capable OLB too, I love his lower body strength, which makes him a viable lead-block initiator. Columbus can go into each Friday night knowing they’ll get the most out of their backer tandem in Carruthers and Vinklarek.
