Ryder is another one of those fringe D2 prospects who could very well earn himself many more offers this season. Last season, Ryder was an extremely solid tackle for Lapeer. I especially like Ryder’s consistency when it comes to finishing his blocks and being an overall physical lineman. Though, a big reason why Ryder doesn’t have many GLIAC offers is his footwork. On all pass-blocking reps, Ryder looks very off-balance and overall has very wonky fundamentals. Clean those up, and he’ll be a highly-touted late-bloomer prospect. I hope to see those improvements this season!

Ryder has moved up the scales recently and has now hit the 310 mark! I really like how technical his game is, specifically in pass sets. He does a nice job of staying low and in an athletic position rather than standing straight up, and he is able to shuffle his feet without crossing them or clicking his heels. Just a nice smooth shuffle that lets him change direction on a dime. In running situations he shines largely at being able to pull and get to the 2nd level, or kicking out his defender and making sure they are nowhere near the play. Last off season I did see him putting in the work at some college camps, and I am looking for more of the same this year.
