I have seen Ryan up close on a couple of occasions – as a pass-rushing and strong EDGE player. Ryan has made the transition this season to linebacker, and he has shown that he can be quick to the football, shed blocks, and make tackles for his defense on a consistent basis. Ryan has had some college interest, and I think he can definitely help a program on the next level. Ryan is a very strong competitor and has a motor that doesn’t stop on the field.

I was able to see Ryan up close at a showcase this winter where he won an MVP award for his talents he put on display. Ryan being listed as a linebacker leads me to believe he is going to play more of an EDGE role in the Community School of Davidson defensive scheme – Ryan previously played at Pine Lake as more of a defensive lineman. Ryan has an excellent get off and puts pressure on offensive tackles to overset, and Ryan has shown a nice counter move to the speed he shows off the edge to become a pass rush specialist. From a recruiting perspective, Ryan has an offer from Emory & Henry and interest from other schools. 64 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks – a college may get a steal given his size and natural ability he has put on film so far.
