A top 10 quarterback prospect in Pennsylvania’s 2029 class according to our preseason rankings, sitting just outside the overall top 100. This Lancaster Catholic sophomore was previously listed at 6’3, 180 pounds but has since grown to 6’4, 195 pounds, an impressive physical development for a player still in his second year of high school. He also carries an outstanding 4.4 GPA, giving him an excellent combination of size, academics and quarterback potential. I’ve had high hopes for this young man since the preseason, and his updated measurements only strengthen my interest in what he could eventually become. In my opinion, he has a Division I ceiling, and I’m particularly interested in seeing how his arm talent continues to develop over the next two seasons.
He has only posted once on Twitter throughout the season, which initially made me wonder how much new film would be available. Fortunately, his Hudl tells a different story. He has consistently uploaded several single game cutups, along with a lengthy five minute midseason highlight reel posted on October 1. He has even added another individual game cutup since then, so he is clearly continuing to make film available for college coaches and evaluators. Through his first five games, he accumulated 520 passing yards, 60 rushing yards and six total touchdowns. Those are respectable numbers to begin his sophomore campaign, especially for a quarterback who is still growing into his frame and developing his command of the position.
His midseason tape opens with an excellent rep that immediately showcases why I believe his ceiling is so high. Working out of a shotgun spread look, he takes a three step drop, adds a hitch and delivers a beautiful football approximately 35 yards downfield for a touchdown. What stands out is how smoothly he executes the throw and how well he understands the leverage his receiver has established against the defensive back. He recognizes the advantage, puts the football out in front of his target and allows him to run underneath it without breaking stride. The placement, timing and confidence are all encouraging, particularly for a sophomore. This is the type of downfield arm talent I want to see more consistently as he develops. If he continues demonstrating this level of accuracy and confidence stretching the field, I’ll feel increasingly comfortable maintaining a Division I projection.
His second rep provides a different look, with Lancaster Catholic operating out of a 12 personnel formation. He demonstrates the ability to identify his read and deliver an out route on time, getting the football out of his hands quickly and decisively. I appreciate how clearly he understands where the ball is supposed to go within the structure of the play. There is no unnecessary hesitation or wasted movement before the release. He recognizes the intended target, trusts the timing and delivers the football where the coaching staff designed the play to attack. Seeing him execute from both shotgun spread formations and heavier personnel groupings is encouraging because it suggests he is gaining experience with different offensive looks rather than relying on one specific system.
He also shows the ability to roll out, escape the pocket and create opportunities when the original play structure changes. At 6’4, 195 pounds, he already has a frame that reminds me somewhat of a linebacker, and that size should make him increasingly difficult for defenders to bring down as he continues developing physically. I wouldn’t classify him as a true mobile or run first quarterback, but he certainly isn’t a statue in the pocket. He is willing to move, extend plays and pick up yardage with his feet when necessary. That functional mobility is an important part of his evaluation because it gives him another way to keep an offense moving without sacrificing his identity as a passer.
His fourth rep is another particularly impressive example of his natural throwing ability. Without much of a hitch or a significant step into the throw, he casually flicks the football approximately 30 yards downfield for another touchdown. The ease with which the ball comes out of his hand is what catches my attention. He generates enough velocity and distance without needing an exaggerated throwing motion, while still maintaining excellent trajectory and placement. The football has a good arc and tempo, giving his receiver the opportunity to track it and run underneath the pass. Combined with the opening touchdown throw, this rep reinforces his ability to deliver accurate deep balls with confidence and touch.
Overall, this is an extremely encouraging midseason check in on one of Pennsylvania’s better young quarterback prospects. His growth to 6’4, 195 pounds, strong academic profile and consistent Hudl activity are all positives, but the biggest takeaway is the arm talent he continues to demonstrate. I like his decisiveness, his ability to operate within different offensive formations and the natural touch he shows when attacking downfield. I still want to see more consistent production and a larger sample of his decision making against different coverages, but there is substantial potential here. He remains a prospect with a Division I ceiling in my eyes, and I’m excited to continue following his development as he works toward becoming one of the state’s premier quarterbacks in the 2029 class.

Rowan DeMarco Rowan DeMarco 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Lancaster Catholic | 2029 State PA got to start and play quarterback towards the end of last season. Standing 6’3″ tall with good athleticism, DeMarco displayed a good ability to play quarterback last season. He has good mechanics and footwork as a quarterback. He especially throws well on the run. On specific sprint-out pass plays, he showed a good ability to throw the ball. When he had to run, he also showed a good ability. DeMarco will have an entire off-season to learn from last season, and I expect a big jump from him this season.
