About Rocky
Expert Analysis
Nate Wahl | Prep Redzone Scout
Rocky has been in our top-tier amongst defensive tackles since this 2027 South Dakota class first came out a couple years ago already. The 6’3 280 pounder has gotten quicker and quicker each year with getting off his blocks fluidily and quickly gets to the point of attack. He has some of the best short-area vision amongst defensive tackles in this class as is a gobbler when it comes to stopping the run. He displays the soft hands you want to have in the middle of your defensive trenches and the sudden instincts to get down to the ball carrier. His ideal size should translate really well to the next-level. TWITTER

of Mitchell who plays on both sides of the trenches for the Mitchell Kernels. He brings some of the most fluid get off hands as a run stuffer the state of South Dakota has to offer. He also has gotten smoother in his junior season with his pursuit angles after getting off blocks as Rocky has tapped into his upside from a year ago. He is grades out as one of a couple trench monsters from the Kernels that grade out as a D1 grade out of this 2027 class as the prospects sitting around Rocky have just gotten their D1 offers recently too, which is something to pay attention to.

out of Mitchell. The 6’3 280 pounder for the Kernels, has some of the best short-area vision amongst defensive tackles in this 2027 class in the Dakotas and the ample fluidity Rocky shows getting off blocks has gotten even smoother with his sophomore tape. He also intrigues me with his well-noted strength and pad-level on a consistent basis and no doubt with being one of the best wrestlers in South Dakota is why I love the translation with wrestling to football as you see the stamina and strength you want to with Rocky. I’ve even him get off blocks with only one hand free, but still making it look effortless. Rocky is a 2027 defensive tackle college coaches need to offer ASAP.
