A defensive lineman who saw varsity time as a sophomore, Casalenda brought down 10 total tackles and 4 TFLs in just 5 games last season. On his sophomore tape, Casalenda does a great job of shedding the initial block from offensive linemen, and as his stats suggest, he wreaks havoc on ball carriers once he gets into the backfield. He’s got a solid rip move in his arsenal and proves to be difficult to lock onto for offensive linemen. He’s also shown off some positional versatility on his tape, playing everything from D-end to D-tackle. In a larger role during his junior season, Casalenda could produce some great tape, and I’m eager to see what that ends up being.
