as a QB for Lake Shore so he is not a new name in Section VI. However, this past spring Gillette broke his leg running track so a comeback was uncertain. Gillette did return in Week 2 of this season as the Eagles RB but it was his week 4 performance that showed his leg is healed and he is ready to be a big part of the team’s plans. Rob ran for 118 yards and added 6 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery for a TD in their 32-12 win over Cheektowaga.

is a dynamic playmaker whose senior season should be watched closely. He is an incredible athlete that catapulted the Eagles offense a season ago but a broken leg this past spring will keep him on the shelf for most of 2024. With that being said, Gillette does plan on making a comeback at some point. Lake Shore is looking to ease him back in to the game plan but when he is 100%, he is often times the best player on the field.

has been Lakeshore’s starting QB the last two seasons. Although he can be considered a Running QB, he mixed it up running for 1,486 yards and 25 touchdowns in his career, while throwing for 1.705 yards and 17 touchdowns. Gillette runs with toughness, has great vision and can rarely be tackled by one player. He does possess good pocket awareness and an exceptionally arm but when it comes to the collegiate level, I think he can have a great career as a Running Back, Receiver or Safety. Most Quarterback don’t play defense but that isn’t the case with Rob. He is a three year varsity Safety, accumulating 124 tackles (7 for loss) 3 interceptions and 8 passes defensed. He plays fearlessly and tackles with great form and has a knack to always be around the ball.
