Cole is a defender who consistently finds himself around the football. His instincts allow him to diagnose plays quickly and position himself to make an impact. Time after time on film, Cole is involved in tackles, either making the stop himself or helping hold up the ball carrier long enough for teammates to arrive and finish the play. Cole is comfortable dropping back into coverage and does a nice job reading the quarterback while keeping routes in front of him. He closes quickly on underneath throws and limits opportunities for receivers to gain additional yardage after the catch. Continued development in his physicality could help him take another step forward and maximize his effectiveness at the point of attack. His instincts, awareness and consistent motor make him an intriguing small school prospect who could generate increased attention as the season progresses.
