Standing 6-foot-2 and over 200 pounds, Gray led all quarterbacks in the bench press by repping 185 pounds an impressive 16 times. The physical tools match the production on the field, where he accounted for nearly 40 total touchdowns last season. With his size, strength, and playmaking ability, Gray continues to establish himself as one of the top quarterback prospects in Eastern North Carolina.

Gray hit our radar first as a receiver when he was a freshman, then moved to quarterback for his sophomore season and helped orchestrate one of the best seasons in recent school history. He was one of our Player of the Year candidates after throwing for over 2,600 yards, adding 11 touchdowns, and almost 400 yards on the ground.

Just a sophomore, Gray played quarterback for Northside-Jacksonville, throwing for nearly 2,000 yards and adding another 250 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Prior to this season, Northside-Jacksonville was 6-45 since 2020. Gray led the Monarchs to an 8-2 record and a playoff 3-seed and first-round bye. Gray has been the spark behind Northside–Jacksonville’s impressive turnaround this season, and Friday night was another statement performance. The sophomore quarterback accounted for over 300 total yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his dual-threat ability and command of the offense. His poise and playmaking continue to fuel the Monarchs’ momentum as they push toward postseason contention.
