It’s been a struggle this year for the Spartans with a young ball club but one of the underclassmen that has flashed strong play this year, it’s Bishop. This sophomore two-way player has carved out a starting role at safety this Fall and performed very well. The Spartans defender has mainly played boundary safety for his defense, providing good action in run support while flashing occasional range and closing speed. If there is something for Bishop to work on in the off-season it would be his foot speed. Don’t get me wrong, Bishop runs well but I think he can become quicker and more explosive. What I do love about this East Tennessee product is how hard and physical he plays. Bishop competes and makes sure his presence is known. More development is of course needed but I like what I’ve seen from Bishop this season and who he can become over the next two years.
