Slone who is one of the top signal callers across all of Norcal is having a very nice season for the Thunder and has been delivering the ball to a variety of weapons at his disposal. The Nevada commit is a 3-star prospect per 247-Sports and has been one of the sections top passers since starting his Sophomore season for Rocklin. He is a dual-threat guy that can get it done with his legs or through the air and has tight mechanics, a quick release and throws a very nice deep ball with touch and velocity. He had another strong showing in week 7 and threw for nearly 150 yards and 3 scores while adding another touchdown on the ground.

Slone who is committed to Nevada and one of the top signal callers in northern California, got off to a hot start in the opening week of SJS play against a tough and physical Turlock squad. He passed for 200+ yards and 3 scores and looked sharp through out the game both when using his legs and when delivering through the air. Slone should once again lead Rocklin deep into the SJS playoff’s and the Thunder could be a legit northern California bowl game participant come early December.

A lot to like about Slone’s skillset. At 6’2” 165 lbs. he’s an advanced passer for a sophomore with a high football IQ and great poise. He’s quick and decisive with his reads and shows the ability to process information quickly and go through his progression. Very technical and precise with his footwork and mechanics in the pocket with great rhythm and timing. Plus arm strength and accuracy, demonstrates that he can anticipate and throw his receivers open and in stride to allow them to run after the catch. Throws a good ball to all three levels and shows he can layer the ball over second level defenders to hit his target. Great ability to create on broken plays, he does a great job stepping up in the pocket to manipulate pressure and create a throwing lane. A good athlete that can be elusive and make plays with his legs when needed. Picked up his initial offer from Utah State over the summer but with the breakout season he just had as a sophomore his recruiting should see a boost this offseason.

Slone has been navigating one of the toughest schedules in all of Norcal, and for only a second year player at the high school level, is an elite talent that plays well beyond his years. He shows strong mechanics, elite pocket movement and escapability, with the ability to fit passes into tight windows and lead his receivers open downfield. He has passed for over 2,200 yards and 20+ touchdowns, while adding another 350+ on the ground and knowing when to take off and run, and when to keep his eyes downfield and deliver strikes. In their section title game against an elite St. Mary’s team, he did a nice job managing the game and methodically driving down the field in a tight game. Slone will be one of the top Junior passers across the region next Fall, and look to unseat the loaded Grant Pacers in their Norcal title game.

Slone is really making a name for himself, and is establishing himself as one of the top ’26 signal callers across the state, checking in just outside the top twenty in our most recent rankings update. He has some very impressive arm talent for his age, and can throw it downfield with accuracy and touch, while showing he can fit the ball into tight windows in both in-breaking and outbreaking routes and is able to buy some time with his feet and shows a strong pocket presence. He will only continue to add to his skillset and IQ as a passer, and will be one of the top quarterbacks across Northern California for the next two seasons. Against a very well coached Del Oro team, he passed for over 240 yards and three TD’s, while leading Rocklin to a big time SFL win 35-14.
