2027 Washington RB/DB Phillip Shields Phillip Shields 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Washington | 2027 State WV stayed loyal to the Patriots after significant roster turnover in the off-season and has been rewarded with becoming one of their feature players on both sides of the ball this season. Shields has emerged as a talented ball carrier on offense, where he’s rushed for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns in five games this season. The emergence has opened our eyes to just how athletic he is, in addition to his DB ability that he showcased as a sophomore. We still project Shields as a defensive back at the next level, where he has a high ceiling, but his offensive playmaking ability this season should be highlighted as well.
