Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Lumpkin is coming off a productive fall, but I will be watching him closely to see how his recruitment develops. He is a big, strong runner at all of 6’0 200. He can act as a true bell cow and power through traffic when he gets going downhill. He moves much better than many RBs at his size, especially in the short areas, which gives him the unique ability to create his own yards. From a size, speed, and production standpoint, Lumpkin is pretty close to a triangle traits prospect, and it still feels like a matter of when, not if, regarding his ultimate breakout on the recruiting trail.

One of the more underrated running backs across Georgia, Lumpkin is finally starting to see his recruitment pick up after an outstanding sophomore season where he ran for just over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. The physical, tackle-breaking back powered through defenses last year at 6-foot-0 200-pounds and should be even better in 2026. He ran for at least 100 yards in five games last fall and found the end-zone in 8 of his 11 games. He runs hard, physically gifted, and saw his first two offers come his way this spring from Miami (OH) and Liberty. He’ll likely see more offers come his way and a bump in the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings this summer.

Lumpkin was a breakout player for East Paulding as a sophomore, and there’s so much to like ahead of his final two seasons on varsity. He is a big, strong player at 6’0 200 who can roll downhill. He is faster than most players at his size, and his short-area explosiveness to find his top speed is the most impressive start of his game. He can thump, driving through contact and keeping his feet moving in a pile to tack on extra yards. He will fall forward at contact, and he has the athletic traits to tie together his game. There should be some recruiting attention here, and possibly this spring.

A speedy back with size at 6-foot-0 200-pounds, Lumpkin showed he’s one of the best running backs Northwest of Atlanta, Lumpkin has the ability to break tackles while bringing above-average speed to the table. He does a good job of following his blocks, running with balance, and was tough to bring down by just one defender. He was one of the best backs in the region and certainly didn’t run like your average sophomore. Lumpkin ran for just over 1,000 yards with 13 touchdowns. He averaged an impressive eight yards per carry and hit the 100-yard mark five times, averaging just under 100 yards along the way. He’s a 2028 back to know who should have an even bigger junior season in 2026.

In the small town of Dallas out in West Georgia is where you’ll find another breakout sophomore running back having a fantastic second season. The strong, physical back brings plenty of size and durability at 6-foot-0 200-pounds. He runs behind his pads, picks up yards after contact, and has been a consistent weapon out of the backfield all year long. He’s run for an impressive 816 yards and 11 touchdowns this season and coming off his best game of the year, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns against South Paulding. He’s rushing for an impressive 8.2 yards a carry and should see a big boost in the next 2028 Prep Redzone rankings.
