Expert Analysis

What you do well: You stand out as a deep-ball specialist and explosive playmaker, evidenced by your junior season stats of 30 receptions for 734 yards (24.5 YPC), 8 receiving touchdowns, and 10 total touchdowns, averaging 73.4 yards per game—ranking you in the top 193 nationally, top 18 in California, and top 2 in the LA City Section for key metrics like yards per catch. Your two-way versatility as a WR/DB highlights strong instincts, reliable hands, and ball skills. On special teams, you contribute significant return yardage. Your film showcases elite vertical speed on go routes and posts, contested catches downfield, and elusiveness after the catch, turning intermediate throws into big gains. A standout performance includes 4 receptions for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns in a win over Taft, demonstrating your ability to dominate in high-stakes matchups with quick releases, precise stems, and physicality in traffic. Your progression as a return specialist adds explosive potential, flipping field position with long returns.
What you can’t do yet: At 55’10″and 150-170 lbs, you can get disrupted by physical press coverage from larger corners, as inferred from matchups against tougher defenses; building mass and refining release footwork will enhance your consistency against elite competition. Your reception volume (30) suggests room to expand the route tree for more intermediate work and a higher target share, with reports indicating occasional reroutes in tight coverage.
If/how you project to help a team win: You project as a dynamic field-stretcher and special teams weapon in spread or vertical offenses, capable of drawing safety help to open underneath options and delivering game-changing scores from deep or returns. Your big-play efficiency (high YPC and TD rate) can ignite comebacks or extend leads. At the same time, defensive contributions create turnover potential, ultimately helping teams outscore opponents and control momentum in pass-oriented schemes.

Turner is another very talented receiver from Palmdale, that has a few elite level athletes in the 2026 and 2027 class. He is a polished playmaker with natural hands, a big catch radius and shows he can beat man coverage while a precise route runner over the top or when coming back downhill. Turner shows good foot speed and quickness in and out of his breaks while able to pluck the ball out of the air and has strong hands when making catches in traffic. After the catch, he has third level speed and good wiggle in tight windows to make defenders miss. He is a no-brainer FBS player that has recently picked up his first offer from Colorado State.
