is a big and physical defensive tackle. I am excited to see how he works out at the Showcase. He has great size (6’3″) and strength. He is hard for offensive linemen to block because of his traits. The question I have is, how well does he move? I like to see him fire off the ball during drills and one-on-one competitions.

is another guy we could of listed on either side of the line, as he is a master of his craft. Defensively he had 4 sacks to go along with 35 tackles, he is a mean cuss along Atlee’s dline. Cross may have been playing his best ball as his season ended earning 2nd team all region honors. He is 6’3 and up to 280 lbs., it is not hard to picture him mauling opponents in the Big Ten or SEC very soon.

Patton is a physical lineman who can play on the offensive and defensive line. I project him as a Guard if he is to play offensive line at the next level. He is a mauler in the run game with a relentless block sustain and the strength to enforce his will. He is very good at refitting himself in his blocks and turning defenders out of the gap. Shows good foot quickness in pass protection allowing him to mirror. Shows the athleticism to get into space and provide blocks downfield as a puller. He has room to develop his initial block fits and set points. Overall a good foundation for his offensive line play, and I am intrigued to see his development. At Defensive Tackle, you see the same relentless play on the field. He does a good job at using his hands to engage while keeping his eyes in the backfield to read the play, with the strength to hold his ground and shed the block. Patton is someone who very well could find interest on both sides of the ball in his recruitment.

Patton’s exceptional ability to consistently finish blocks is a highly desirable trait. A standout characteristic immediately evident in his game film is his determination to drive through his blocks until the opposing player is neutralized. While his technique of engaging outside the defender’s frame occasionally could results in holding penalties. His physicality and strong possession skills are significant assets, particularly in run plays. The demonstrates dominance at all offensive line positions except center. Positional versatility especially on the offensive is a highly valued trait in all levels. His pass blocking is god but could be improved. While his foot speed compensates for a somewhat shallow kick step, refining his footwork technique to achieve greater depth would further strengthen this aspect of his game. He shows promise at the defensive tackle position. He displays quickness off the line. However, he does have a tendency to stand upright while engaging locks. I am confident that this technique issue will be addressed with time. Patton possesses considerable physical attributes, standing at 6’3″ and weighing 275 lbs., combined with his aggressive demeanor that is always highly coveted by coaching staffs. Based on his current skillset and potential, I anticipate a successful future for Patton beyond high school.
