If you haven’t been paying attention, the Aitkin Gobblers have been putting out some serious multi-sport talents as of late, and their latest installment may be the Gobblers‘ scariest product yet. Coming in somewhere around 6’3, 220 lbs. Fulton is a devastating sight to see on both the gridiron and hockey rink, and boy does he know how to produce. This past fall on the gridiron, Fulton totaled 108 tackles, 2 INTs, and a fumble recovery as well as 143 rushes for 1,085 yards and 19 TDs on a tremendous 7.59 YPC average while leading Aitkin to its second nine-win season in school history. He kept the momentum going into the hockey season with his Northern Lakes co-op, consisting of players from Pequot Lakes, Crosby, Aitkin, and Pine River-Backus, coming in at second on the team in points with a ridiculous 40 point, 21 goal, 19 assist junior hockey season that still ongoing, as Northern Lakes beat Sartell 3-2 in the Section 6A Championship in St. Cloud last night, qualifying for the MN state hockey tournament!
On the gridiron, Fulton is laterally agile and is easily able to slide and scrape across the LOS for a towering ILB, and the 220ish lber. can beat blocking attempts with either quickness or power, and he rarely finds himself tied up around the box and LOS. Fulton also displays impressive closing speed for his size, and I’d hate to be on the receiving end of a collision with the Aitkin linebacker off a full head of steam. Plus, he’s a twitchy, fluid gas stove of a ball carrier who sends would-be tacklers bouncing off him like bowling pins and displays some scary home run speed for his size. Sitting just outside the Top 100, Fulton can easily shoot himself into the upper echelons of the state’s rankings depending on how the summer camp circuit goes.
