Polamalu is an instinctual defender in the secondary with the awareness, anticipation, and range that D1 colleges look for in a safety prospect. He’s a ball hawk that consistently puts himself in position to make plays, finished the season among the top ranked 2027 prospects in the state with eight interceptions and 140 tackles. Shows great processing ability as he makes his reads and diagnoses route combinations while the play develops. Efficient with his movement and footwork, he remains under control and patient to limit wasted steps and take good angles to quickly close space in coverage and run support. Plus transitional speed and change of direction, he’s able to accelerate coming out of his break to disrupt throwing lanes and play the ball in the air. Great route recognition skills, anticipates routes to stay in phase while maintaining leverage. Plays with good eye discipline and comes down aggressively to fill the lane in run support. Look for his recruitment to take off as the cycle progresses.

Polamalu put his name on the radar as one of the most talented defenders in San Diego’s 2027 class this past season. Finished among the county leaders in tackles (140 total) and INTs (8) as a sophomore. Like his NFL HOFer dad, Troy Polamalu, Paisios is a rangy and physical SS that can tackle and make plays all over the field. Instinctive defender that flies downhill with great closing speed and is a powerful hitter in space. Proven ball-hawk over the middle of the field with great coverage and ball skills. Look for Polamalu to generate some momentum on the recruiting trail over the coming months.
