Williams has developed into one of Indiana’s perennial WRs, and on Friday, he came through big for Jefferson. He’s good off the line and has size that’s hard to cover. He torched the defense all night and ended with 11 receptions for 166 yards and 3 TDs. Over the final 2 seasons of his HS career, Williams put up 131 catches for 1,912 yards and 28 TDs.

Jr. has a lot of potential. The future Northern Illinois Huskies is a 6-foot-3, 178-pound wideout who is fourth in the state in receiving yards. Williams can take very hard hits after the catch and still keep his hands on the ball. Williams’ size and height gives him a wide catch radius, he is very good at adjusting to the ball in the middle of the air, and while he isn’t super-quick after the catch, he has enough juice to get yards after contact.

Williams was open all night and even broke a school record for catches in a game. His 19 receptions went for 207 yards and a pair of TDs. Williams is a smooth operator and came out rolling in week 1.

Williams is picking up traction, and schools are starting to find out who he is, and as they do, the offers are starting to come in. Omar is a true X-type receiver with the frame to match. He’s lengthy and can win those vertical balls as well as create some separation. He’s not a burner with speed, but he has good speed and can get behind the defense. He’s incredibly reliable and seemingly always converts 3rd downs. Last season, Williams brought in 64 passes for 931 yards and 16 TDs. That big frame is a redzone cheat code. Williams currently holds offers from Ball State and Miami, but I’d expect that list to grow very soon.

Williams exploded almost seemingly out of nowhere this year and has quickly become one of the state’s hottest wide receivers. He’s got elite size for an outside receiver, yet moves like an inside guy. He’s able to beat guys over the top, win on the inside, and go up for contested catches. His 64 catches, 931 yards, and 16 TDs on the year certainly put everyone on notice. He’s got some of the best highlight catches you’ll see from this year as well.
