Velasco has been good for so long it’s not shocking that he is second in the state in all classifications in passing with 1908 yards through the air. A player with a solid platform that is able to push the ball down the field but also is able to really beat teams with his accuracy. His timing and anticipation is top notch and he is able to throw his receivers open with ease.

Velasco is atop the passer rankings through the pre-season across Idaho, and has had a big time start to his Senior season and is truly a breakout prospect in his final year behind center. He has amassed 1,302 passing yards and 17 touchdowns, while only throwing 3 INT’s and has a 70% completing percentage. He has shown a tremendous arm against all three levels of the defense, and has shown he can throw an accurate deep ball with good velocity and air under it to throw his receivers open, while quickly processing and getting the ball out on time. He has also shown scramble abilities and does a nice job at not losing zip on the ball when throwing across his body. Especially after such a stellar start to his Senior season, he is a no brainer D3+ kid at the next level, and should draw college interest as we draw closer to national signing day.

Velasco has been a monster to start the season and currently leads the state in passing with 1174 yards through the air. The senior has also been extremely efficient at 68% completion percentage and 13 touchdowns with just three interceptions. The senior has great pocket movement and ability to get the football out quickly.

Velasco walked away with quarterback MVP award at the University of Idaho. With plus athleticism and a quick release, Velasco is a threat from anywhere on the field. He can hurt you with his legs and his arm but shows more intangibles with his leadership ability to go along with his clutch gene.

Velasco is a plus athlete that is really able to do a lot for his team. Shows exceptional leadership abilities with a cool, calm demeanor that allows him to be in control of his game and his teammates at the same time. Has the ability to push the ball down the field but is really special on the run outside the pocket where he makes plays throwing the ball all over the field.

Velasco jumps into our rankings as one of the top passers in the state, and put up some big time numbers in his Junior season for Moscow. He almost eclipsed the 2,000 passing yards mark with just under that, and threw for 16 touchdowns through the air. He shows good pocket movement and sees/scans the entire field quickly through his progressions, while throwing a good vertical ball while putting it in places where only his receivers can track it and haul it in. Although having somewhat of a unorthodox release, he gets the ball out quickly and can accurately throw underneath or on the run.
