Maine South’s dynamo 2026 RB Niko Kokosioulis is a veteran of the PrepRedzoneIL Showcase scene and walked away from this past spring’s PRzIL Combine Series stop with MVP honors from the RB group. Kokosioulis also had a good spring on the track, posting an 11.2 100M dash time, which followed an explosive 6.37 50M time during the winter’s indoor season. Limited varsity reps, but Kokosioulis posted 1,314 total yards and 18 TDs in 2023 and did have some big-time runs against varsity defenses, all while showing off that game-breaking track speed in droves. Can bounce it out to the edge and burn pursuit angles with ease, Kokosioulis has start/stop burst and play speed that makes defenders look like they’re wading through sand while in pursuit of the tailback. Shows some elusiveness in the open field and in 1v1 settings, and is always looking to work to the sideline and finish big plays on the edge of his opponents defense. Going to be a breakout season in 2024 for the Maine South RB, pay attention!

Kokosioulis is a 5’8, 155 lbs tailback out of Maine South. He was incredibly impressive at the JV level last season, tallying over 1,300 yards and 18 touchdowns. Kokosioulis is an extremely twitchy athlete, showcasing the ability to change direction in a hurry. He can get lateral or vertical in the blink of an eye, allowing him to create space against unblocked tacklers. From there, his impressive speed takes over, making Kokosioulis a homerun threat every time he touches the ball. Keep an eye on this rising star in Kokosioulis over the next two years.

The Park Ridge and Maine South product is already a PRZ Showcase standout and veteran and had a great season on the non-varsity ranks for the Hawks offense. He posted 1,530 total yards and 18 TDs while displaying game-changing speed that popped off a ton of big runs with opponents barely even able to lay a hand on him, much less tackle him. If you give him a shred of daylight it’s game over, and when you combine it with his vision, balance, and burst out of his cuts, you have a RB who is just as liable to cut back across the grain as he is to take the rock up the gut or to the oppositions sideline for six. Kokosioulis is a fluid and athletic runner who is fun to watch, and I believe his game should translate to the varsity level a lot easier than his peers. Niko Kokosioulis is a playmaker, simple as that.
