About Nelson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Regularly compared with Tim Tebow, Cam Newton etc. on game media coverage because of running ability and size/speed. Also plugged in on defense for critical situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

An outgoing personality with strong voice and communication attributes, but leads by example in preparation, practice and game situations. Runs with backs in practice drills to set highest expectations and standards for movement and conditioning.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Male lead in high school stage production for three consecutive years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A member of leadership group at every level. Recruited to play basketball at enrolled Christian school as a big athlete who elevates the energy level and competitive spirit. Primary community service is with equine-oriented care group with emphasis on helping children recovering from abuse.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Ineligible as freshman because of attendance at non-FHSAA member Christian school. Not able to play football until Junior year prior to conversion to home schooling. Currently recovering from broken tibia sustained in basketball tourney. The injury is a common pediatric injury for athletes whose growth plates are still open. Will be full speed for Spring practice.

What type of college are you looking for?

A quality engineering program offering Aerospace or similar program. Have completed AP courses including AP Calculus BC variant and will want 30 credits of AP courses to count towards degree.
