About Nashaun
Expert Analysis
Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
This kid is a problem on the field. His film starts with play after play showing how physical he is as a tackler, running through his opponent and showing a closing burst that adds to the tackle. Nashaun is a twitchy athlete in coverage and out in space. We see him quickly react to receivers and perfectly times when he jumps routes to make INTs. The ’25 reads the QB and baits them into terrible throws while in zone coverage. Brown’s experience on offense shows up on defense because he has a nose for the endzone when he gets his hands on a turnover. His insintcts on the football field are very strong. He is a potential recruit on either side of the ball. Get eyes on the versatile athlete.

‘s overall dynamic ability on the gridiron, he also happens to be one of the hardest hitters in the Land of Lincoln’s 2025 class. At 5’9, 175 lbs., Brown is an excellent testament to the fact that you don’t need to be the biggest to be one of the hardest hitters, as fearlessness, absolute commitment, and technique can help a 175 lber. hit like they’re 50 pounds heavier. As a defensive back and on special teams, Brown comes on-screen like a missle, and upends and/or sends opponents flying & backwards like they got clipped by a truck. He can lay the boom low or high on ball carriers with equal impact, and can build a ton of momentum into contact with nasty effect. If he has a full head of steam especially, you better get out of his way, no matter how much you weigh. There’s a 5+ sequence of reps in his sophomore tape that are impressively massive hits against a variety of opponents in a variety of different situations. is one of the hardest hitters in the Illinois 2025 class and has a ton of room to continue to grow in the rankings after rising from the watchlist to #91 overall. He’ll be featured in our next article as well, so stay tuned, but for now, I want to make sure to mention how much I like his dynamic athleticism on the gridiron, where he can do just about anything asked of him and was a big-time weapon on both offense and defense. Offensively, I like his speed, ball skills, and vision after the catch, and as a DB I like his anticipation and speed out of his breaks, ability to run the alley in run support, and above all, his physicality. Brown can make plays around the box or in space and was a force game-t0-game for Jones, whose campus I used to live right across from when we were living in Chicago. More on Mr. Brown tomorrow with PRzIL!
