Schirmer’s massive offseason sees him continue to rise up rankings and recruiting boards now ranked #54 overall and holding 14 D1 offers, many from high profile programs. 6’5” 250 lbs. he’s got ideal size, length, and growth potential for defensive line. He’s got an athletic build to him with plenty of room to add mass without sacrificing those movement skills. He’s got great initial quickness off the ball with an explosive first step to gain positional leverage before the play develops. He’s violent at the POA with excellent natural strength and power to disengage from blockers and bring heavy contact as a tackler. Despite his size, he bends well in the hips, knees, and ankles allowing him to redirect and chase in pursuit.
